FED:Shorten takes aim at WA premier=2

Disability services advocate Geoff Stein, director of autism support foundation Giant
Steps Sydney, warns the scheme will falter unless all politicians were united in their
support.

"People with disabilities and their families wanted the reforms delivered without delay,"

he said in a statement.

They would be extremely disappointed if the process became mired in political bickering
and turf wars.

"A minority federal government and disparate state and territory governments, all pushing
their own barrow, pose big risks for the process," Mr Stein said.

The federal coalition is giving the scheme qualified support, saying it wants to see
more details of any government plan to get it off the ground.
